To make sure your condenser fan works properly, keep the fan blades and the coils clean. Be safe and turn off the power supply before working on your HVAC unit. Clean the outside of your condenser unit regularly.

Each spring it’s time to clean the inside of your condenser unit, including the fan and the sensitive coil. First, the power should be turned off so things don’t move as you work. Secondly, pop the grill off, take the blades off and clean them as well as the actual unit.

Be careful when doing yard work that you do not get debris on or in your unit. Direct the clippings away from the equipment. Make sure you move around the unit and blow the leaves away from it while blowing your leaves.

You must keep your HVAC systems oil ports lubricated annually. These ports have a metal covering. Sometimes it is rubber. Choose a SAE 20 oil whch is lightweight and non-detergent and place 10 drops or less into each port, ensuring it doesn’t overfill.
